Gekko offers several features to facilitate the development of the commercial systems for cryptocurrencies. In particular, the ability to test the strategy built on historical data, simulation of tradings on live data from the market and providing a library for indicators of technical analysis indicators and so on.
We adopted Gekko platform to enter cryptocurrency market. New market has brought us also new challenges, but with know how and experience in creating automated trading systems in the Forex market we have managed, at last, to create such trading bots for cryptocurrency trading as well. The cornerstone of our bots is mostly technical analysis, which we are trying to identify market turns, places where it is best to buy / sell the traded cryptocurrency.
After successful implementation of our trading system, we started testing on the Bitcoin BTC cryptocurrency. To verify functionality of the strategy, we used historical data from the beginning of 2016 until August 2018. During period of testing trading system, we tried to cover all the market changes and eventualities that happened during this period.
The main goal was to find out what results are produced by our strategy during the less volatile period, but also its behavior during the rapid growth of the crypto market at the end of 2017. Based on these partial business system test results, we setup settings of our system. During the test period, we were able to make a profit of up to 40%, regardless of market capitalization. The results mentioned above have proven that we are going in the right direction and we’ve decided to deploy our automated trading system into real world trading environment.
We have successfully integrated Gekko platform into our internal Slack application as a chatbot for managing alerts for trading signals from our automated trading system. We also set up internal hardware monitoring system using server observer and server notifications.
Currently, we work on extending our portfolio to 2 more cryptocurrencies and covering 2 more crypto exchanges. We also develop mobile application (called Gordon, of course 🙂 ) to monitor all Gekko instances and summarize results into clear indicators.

With more than 90k different kinds of commodities in its warehouses and growing operations every year, the point where all the stock movements in, between and out of the warehouses became particularly challenging was reached.
